For the purpose of streamlining everyone’s psyches, here are some helpful Questions and Answers that should give you a better, more succinct idea of how the process of a photography session with me works.
Feel free to direct any other questions to Inquire@IsabelDresler.com, I’m always available unless I’m not!
How long will my session take?
On average a photo shoot with me tends to take between 3 and 6 hours, however sometimes (especially if I am traveling to you) I can photograph you in multiple locations on different days depending on the type of shoot you book me for. I try to be as flexible as possible and work within your desired schedule.
How far in advance can I book you? Can I book you for a shoot tomorrow?
Booking me way far in advance always works great! I like being able to schedule my time in the most streamlined way possible. You can always try to book me with shorter notice as well – I tend to be flexible enough that with a few days notice I can set up pretty much anything.
How many outfits/locations do I get to have in my session?
As many as you want! I want you to be able to get the most out of your shoot.
How should I pay you? When should I pay you?
Cash is preferable, but PayPal works as well – soon I’ll even be able to take credit cards! As far as when to pay me, an advance deposit with the remaining payment on the day of the shoot is preferred, but I am always open to negotiation.
What if I don’t want my photos published online?
Then be sure to let me know! I have an option in my pricing to restrict the use of the images to suit your personal needs.
When do I get my photos? Do I get all of them?
My average turnaround time for editing, converting and resizing your photos (if you want to post them online) is two to three weeks, however I do have a pricing option to rush the editing process to a one week turnaround. You will receive all of the high resolution .JPEG images along with images that are resized for online use, with no watermarks or anything obnoxious like that, and I can also get images printed for you if you would like (for an additional fee).
Do I have to be naked?
Of course not! You can wear whatever you’d like – my main priority is to make you feel as beautiful and comfortable as possible and the right wardrobe can play a huge part in creating the best environment for you.
I’ve never modeled/been photographed before… Can I still book you for a session?
I love working with people who have never been photographed before! I love creating something magical and beautiful and showing you exactly how unique and gorgeous you are.
How far are you willing to travel for a shoot?
As far as I can! I am willing to trade my time/sessions in exchange for airfare as well, so even if you’re far far away don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like to work together!
Why can’t I get a free shoot?
As much as I would love to photograph everyone for free all the time, at this point in my life it doesn’t work for me to do sessions free of charge. Between driving, finding a place to stay, keeping myself fed and paying all of my bills it’s important that I’m making enough money to cover my expenses as well as the fact that my photography is my sole source of income. Also, as I have been working in this industry for nearly a decade and have the resume and testimonials to back it up, I do identify as a professional photographer and therefore feel it is acceptable to charge for my time. But that doesn’t mean I won’t do pro bono work for the right cause!
Can my boyfriend/girlfriend/partner be in the shoot with me?
Of course! I love documenting the connection and chemistry and intimacy between multiple people. However I do usually charge an additional rate for couples sessions, which you can read more about on my Rates page!
Can I use your photos on my website, on various websites, in magazines, etc?
I love it when people like my work enough to put it out there and show it off! I don’t require that my images be watermarked or that anybody give me any extra money in order to use them, but I do require that I be credited for them. It’s always a bit of a bummer when I see images that I’ve taken being used by someone else with no indication that I am responsible for it. All of my images are like my little creative babies, and the idea of someone else pretending that they are theirs just rubs me the wrong way.
What won’t you photograph?
There are few things that I absolutely won’t photograph and if you ask me to do a session with you involving them I will definitely let you know. I do go with my gut, and if something doesn’t feel right I will communicate my sentiments with you – and I expect you to do the same with me! We all have limits and comfort zones and an open dialogue is important.
